Where's the Beef???

The holiday season and the endless parties are coming upon us.  Need to add some meat to your menu for your carniverous friends without breaking the piggy bank?  Consider Prime Smoked Meats in Oakland.  I had some of their ham at a party recently and found it to be the sweetest and most succulent I have ever had.  I usually avoid ham, not wanting a hunk of dry salty piece of meat...no longer.

Neldam's Bakery reincarnated

Great news for all their loyal fans who miss their sweet goodness.  Building owners and investors have joined former Neldam's employees to form a co-op.  Their goal is to cater to the constant change of customers in their community in Oakland.
Thanks to my friend who celebrated her birthday recently with a party, and was offering dinner rolls that I sadly refused to add to my plate I was packing to take home, only to find out later that they had a croissant like quality to them.  The good news is that I found out that she got them here.

I don't believe there is any other culture that is so intrinsically tied to food as the Chinese. After all, the phrase frequently used to describe the Chinese family style of eating, "Do you want to eat Chinese?" extends to all types of cuisine, in which everyone shares all of the dishes. The central room of the house is typically the kitchen, and the first thing you will be asked is, "Have you eaten?" when you enter a Chinese home.
I am finally creating this blog as a way of keeping up with all of the new restaurants in the bay area, as well as giving accollades to the tried and true. It's also much easier than creating a list for anyone that asks me, "What is the best Sushi restaurant?".
